Post subject: How to stop bleeding when shaving face?
Archived from groups: alt>skincare (more info?)

I posted this on a few groups, i was wondering if anyone here had any
input.

Here's my question:

I'm currently 24, and my hair grows fast enough such that if i don't
shave 3 times a week, it's not considered "clean shaven" enough for
work.

The problem is, when i shave 3 times a week, my skin gets cut. I don't
get "irritation", i don't get "razor bumps", the skin gets cut and
bleeds.

I am also most certainly not shaving in such a way that the blade
*should* be cutting me (i.e. moving side-to-side). I've had people
watch me shave, and they agree i am doing it correctly.

Now here's the kicker. If i wait one full week and *then* shave,
absolutely no cuts at all. My skin is smooth and cut-free.

Have you ever seen this before? I have tried to do a lot of research
on-line, but everyone seems to complain of irritation or bumps, whereas
i am literally cut.

I will describe to you my shaving method:

1. Rinse face with hot water for 30 seconds.
2. Apply Edge gel for sensitive skin shaving cream with fingers.
3. Shave with the grain, rinsing razor often.
4. Shave against the grain without shaving cream after having shaved
entire face with the grain.

Note that i have to shave against the grain, because if i shave with
the grain, the shave is still not "clean shaven" enough for work.

The cuts sometimes appear when i go with the grain, and sometimes
against the grain.

I have also tried shaving just after i shower, and i get the same
results.

This happens whether i use a brand new razor, or one i've used maybe 4
or 5 times.

I've heard of trying a brush, putting shaving cream on when i go
against the grain, shaving in the shower, etc., but i have yet to try
any of these methods.

The reason is, these people say those methods prevent irritation and
razor bumps, but i have not been able to find someone whose skin gets
cut as i do!

Have you ever heard of this before? Do you have any suggestions on
what i should try?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
