What your friend needs to do is to slow down the sebum production.
Do not eat greasy foods, chocolate, fried foods, etc.
You also need to use a chemical type of cleanser, not a mechanical one.
Example: a mechanical cleanser is one where there is little bits of jojoba,
etc that you can see or feel. A chemical cleanser is one where the
ingredients have a disinfectant to cleanse the skin. The reason this is
important is you do not want to stimulate the glands.
Then you want to use a pharmaceutical grade glycolic product that is pH
buffered. Any idiot (company) can put glycolic in a low pH that will burn,
but that is not good.
Finally, if you need a moisturizer, you have to use an ultra light
moisturizer.
If you are interested further, contact me offline. We owned a skin care spa
for 12 years in Florida (in 99 ranked in the top 10 in the country) and
specialized in acneic adolesents and the older generation.
We do sell products, but they are reasonably priced for the quantity given.
Finally, no matter what you try, you need to stick with it for a period of
time. 4 - 8 weeks.
