HI.
I have moderate to mild acne that has revved up as I near
perimenopause. I get frustrated and glob all sorts of Oxy-10 and
salicylic acid products on my face. This actually does help, quickly,
with the blemishes, however, it also leaves me with red flaky skin
that is hard to cover with makeup because the makeup gets caught in
the flakes and looks terrible. I don't want to add moisturizer
because it seems to defeat the purpose of drying out the zits.
Anyways, I've always been a "think outside of the box" person and
have, for years, used scotch tape to "dab" away the flakes. It really
works!! Sometimes it will grab a little too much so you have to be
careful but it has also helped to pull out some of the oil plugs that
persist even after scrubbing, pore vacuuming, and peel-off masks. It
even helped to quickly get rid of the peeling skin that seems to go
hand in hand with Retin-A.
Your mileage may vary, but it has worked well for me and I decided to
share it.
