Need help with cracked skin on fingers

During the winter the skin on both of my thumbs will crack. Sometimes
the crack even goes to raw tissue and really hurts. I have tried
Nexcare, Liquid bandage, and even Super Glue. Sometimes, if I catch
it soon enough, one of those remedys will help for awhile. I put a
moisturising lotion on my had every time I wash my hands. None of
that seems to help much. Any advice will be appreciated.

Well...of course nobody can diagnose a problem sight unseen but I have had
problems with cracked skin in the webs of my fingers. I've had problems
with skin fungal infections before so I thiought it might be that on my
fingers as well. I used an anti fungal cream on it and it cleared up.

I can't say if this is what you're having problems with or not but you
could try an OTC antifungal and find out. It's not all that expensive.
