Tonight I saw a t.v. commercial about this product called Proactive
Solution.Alicia Keys,P. Diddy,Jessica Simpson,and Brittany Spears use
this.See I have bad acne on my face and it's a whole lot worse on my
back and shoulders. It is so bad that I can't wear a tank top or a
bathing suit because of it.And it's so bad that it is all bumpy and
wrinkly and purple.I hate it!My grand-mother told me to use that but it
is $34.99 and we don't have enough money because my mom and my stepdad
doesn't have a job and my dad (the one I live with) has to use up his
money that he earned on their bills and cigerettes and groceries. He does
it so much that by the time he is done paying for all their stuff we
hardly have any money left and we can't get enough groceries to last us
2 days. It's really sad and depressing.I am a little over weight and I've
been losing weight because of the fact we don't have that much food.

Sincerely,
Lucy

Proactive is not a pure blessing. I'm an esthetician, specializing in skin
care, and I have some advice with respect to this product ...

never, ever, ever use it unless you have true acne (pimples are NOT acne ...
pimples may be a symptom of acne). I am continually seeing clients with
hyperpigmentation (redness on cheeks and chin) and minor outbreaks of
pimples. Almost all of the time, the problems can be stopped within a short
period of time by simply having them throw away their Proactive, and start
using products that are alcohol-free and do NOT say oil-free. Acne is a
medical condition; it takes a dermatologist to diagnose it safely ... many
types of poor skin care can and will cause pimples.

Hi Lucy,

Proactive is a product that is highly buffered. This means that is may
work for awhile and then the products may lose there efficacy. Make
sure that you are not washing or scrubbing your face excessively. If
you do, it will make you break out more. You can ice your face and any
other affected area. By rubbing an ice cube on the affected area, it
will help take down the swelling and help prevent breakouts. Without
using something like benzoyl peroxide ointment, glycolic acid, and/or
salicylic acid, you are likely to have acne for awhile. Most products
worth anything will cost you a little bit of money. If you try the
above suggestions, they may help you until you are able to afford a
skin care regimen.

Best wishes
