OK, well for the last 7 months I pretty much haven't had a single pimple,
except for a minor one here or there, even when I went hiking for three
days; usually I break out on the shoulders where the pack was and stuff, but
this time nothing (I admit I did take good care of myself while hiking
though). All of the sudden winter has hit here pretty hard, and it's gotten
pretty damn cold in Seattle. All of the sudden I've started to get pimples
again, maybe one per week, on a regular basis. I'd say it coincided with
the drastic change in temperature, but could that be the cause? My daily
treatment is was with Clean and Clear Daily Pore Cleanser in the morning and
at night, and also at night apply 10% BP to my skin. During the day I
moisturize (I know it doesn't clog pores) because the C&C tends to dry out
my skin a little around the cheeks. I have also grown my hair out longer
than my normal length, if that matters any (it's thicker than normal too).
I don't know if these are factors at all, but any input would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Ryan

I have the idea that excessively dry air is not good for your skin.
Heated indoor air, especially in offices, can be extremely dry. In my
office the humidity is only 26%, which is awful.

Personally I am trying to humidy my office using a cold water
vaporizer, but I have just started this.

If your hair goes over your forehead: is the acne present there? I
sleep with a hairband (not too tight) to hold my hair off my forehead.
OK it doesn't look nice but I believe it helps a bit with the forehead
area.

Drinking extra water is also a great idea, I am sure of it. It's hard
at times, but try it out and see if it doesn't help. My hair and skin
are *very* dry in winter (with acne on top!) and making sure I get
around some humidity and drinking extra water makes some difference.

You also might try something a bit less drying in your face-washing
stuff. I use Spectrogel to wash and Complex 13 to moisturize.

I have found that a lot of people tend to break out more when fall comes
around. I always end up breaking out in Sept. and have to go to the derm.
because whatever I had been using for the past year always ends up failing me
at this time of year. I don't know if our skin just has a more difficult time
balancing out or if it's just coincidence.
