Hi. I think its time to share my experiene using B5. Was on minocyclene for
10+ years, worked poorly. Tried Accutane for about a week, had to stop b/c
of side effects. Accidentally came accross a post in another ng about B5 and
it being used for acne, did some research, seemed safe, tried it out. I used
B5 along with a benzoyl peroxide bar soap called PanOxyl twice a day. Within
2 weeks I permanently stopped taking minocyclene and my skin cleared up
99.999% (still get the occasional small blemish but everyone does). Bear in
mind the acne was cystic and, needless to say, severe (back, chest, neck,
face which resulted in some permanent scarring).
I tried 2 different brands of B5 - GNC and Vitamin Shoppe. Vitamin Shoppe is
about 25% cheaper than the GNC stuff but does not work nearly as well. I had
to increase my dosage by about 50% to get the same effect (so I ended up
saving no money). Needless to say I'm sticking with the GNC stuff ($10 for
one hundred 500mg capsules). My average dose is 4 grams per day w/ the GNC
brand and it works great. Hope this helps!
Btw, anyone try Mederma scar removal cream or similar? Does it work or is it
BS? Any other non-surgical remedies that work? Any feedback will be
appreciated. Thanx! >> Stay informed about: My experience w/ B5 and brands... |

GNC used to get all bad reviews (for B5), to the extent that it was
theorized they must expose it to heat when they encapsulate it..
But I've read a few good things (like your post above) about the quality
of (in the last 6 months), so I wonder if they changed something about it..
I've heard mederma doesn't really work. If you decide to try it, they
usually have a $5 off coupon on their website.
Try vitamin C serum (10%- 17%) for scar fading... >> Stay informed about: My experience w/ B5 and brands... |
