Hiya,

I've had a really dry and cracked patch of skin only under my right eye for
a while. I figured it'd go away but it's proving qute persistent. I'm
reluctant to put any old moisturizer there, because I've heard the wrong
moisturizer could result in too much oil being absorbed, resulting in
eyebags (any truth to this, incidentally?) - anyway my question is, do you
think an under-eye moisturizer would fix it or should I have it checked
out?

Paul

If you want to waste your money, go ahead & buy under eye moisturizer.
It's just moisturizer in fancy & very small packaging (check ingredients),
and often oilier than other moisturizers.

Eyebags aren't caused by moisturizers, incidentally (where on earth did you
hear that one????). You'll get them or you won't, depending on your genes,
although a good (doesn't mean expensive) moisturizer with UVB/UVA sunscreen
might help & can't hurt. And by all means, unless you have really dry
flaking, cracked skin all over, avoid moisturizers with oil in them.

In the meantime, I'd have the dry, flaky, itchy skin checked out. Your
doctor may be able to prescribe something & save you money in the long run
(providing you're insured).

An under eye moisturizer should work to relieve dryness under the eyes. If
you continue to keep the area dry, the patch may spread. I have never
heard of a moisturizer to be too oily. For the best results always apply
the moisturizer before you go to sleep. A product that I recommend to my
customers is called Instant-Action Eye Cream. If you are interested in
finding out more, you can visit my website listed below and search on the
product name.

I recommend BeautiControl's Regeneration Gold Eye Repair.
It firms the delicate, sagging skin around the eye area. Reduces
puffiness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Increases
moisturization for younger looking eyes.

I've used OASIS from Isocare. They also have a good moisturizing cleanser
for dry skin called Chiraloe Silk.

Good luck.
