Post subject: Accutane and drinking

If i drink say once a week whilst taking accutane will it reduce how
effectivbe the drug is. Will it cause any physical harm 2 myself? Anyhow got
any coments on this?

It didn't for me. The reason they recommend you don't drink is that Accutane
can impair the function of your liver (hence the blood tests you usually
need before you start the drug). I think if you drank moderately once per
week, you'd be fine.

You could, but why place unecessary strain on your liver? Surely you
can reject alcohol for 4/5 months of your life.

Thing is, everyone I know who drinks does so intentionally to heavy
intoxication. If you're such a person avoid the bottle at all costs.

Well...WebMD didn't give warning concerning alkeehall. And I drank on it and
I'm still alive... ^_^ I think!

just done my 4 months on accutane without drinking (only no-alcohol beers).

just go and find some no-alcohol beer and drink that - worked fine for me!
usually rated at 0.05 ABV - if you're in the UK...

you'll get used to the taste - better than nothing and you get to keep a
working liver!
