I had derm-abrasion done twice last winter and
was not satisfied with the procedure. It's not
the derm-abrasion per se that I am not satisfied
with, it's because the doctor treated me for
acne scars which I don't have. I saw another
doctor who will be operating on me sometime
later this month or next.
Lab tests reveal that I have Rhinophema and he
will have to remove all the skin from my
nose and let it grow again. The nose does
not get large like you may have seen in
pictures over the Internet but the over
active glands leaves my nose looking
a bit like the skin of an orange. I am
very light skin and noticed that the
derma-abrasion has not changed the texture
of the skin. Avoid the sun as much as
possible and keep cool as much as possible.
I have been avoiding dairy products, spicy
foods this past year and noticed that it helps.
And, some medications like anti-depressants
can exacerbate skin condition.
Cheers,
