Just an update related to my last post...

Since I last wrote, I was on Yasmin (sorry, I orig. thought it was
called Jasmine) for almost two weeks, and I just stopped using it a
couple days ago. It made my oily skin even oilier, and my hair has
become very oily as well. I'm pretty sure that it's also the cause of
several new and painful acne cysts on my cheek & jaw areas. The
Yasmin also made me feel nauseated, which I never had when using Diane
35.

I'm think that I'm going to lay off the bcp for a while and just
continue w/ the Retin A Micro.

Grace, check my post on Vitex ("this helps hormone breakouts"). I've
been on this board for years and years (::sigh:Smile and the Vitex is the
first thing (besides strict low carb eating) to really make a difference
in my hormone breakouts.. And from what I have read so far, it is very
safe to use long term. hth

Thanks for the rec Kita! I bought a bottle of Vitex today, but I'm on
some non-acne related antibiotics for the rest of the week, so I won't
be able to try it out until next week.

It's funny you that you mentioned the low carb eating b/c I have been
eating TERRIBLY lately. For the past several weeks I've been on a
pretty constant sugar high with pastries, ice cream sundaes, and
candy. Maybe I'm insulin resistant? I have several aunts who have
diabetes, and my dad was also a diabetic. I started my low-carb, low
sugar diet today, along w/ a food diary. I'll track to see if there's
a relationship between what I eat, or don't eat, and my skin
condition.

Thanks again ;-D

So sorry for the delay, I've been off list until now. As far as I know
all bcp creates a risk of clotting but I don't think that Ortho TC or
Zovia have high risk clotting factors.

Yes, Zovia is a bcp, it is monophasil.
