Accutane--(A.K.A. Isotretinoin) Isotretinoin is a medication (pill) taken to
treat severe nodular acne that has not been helped by other treatments,
including antibiotics. Isotretinoin is a form of vitamin A. It decreases
the amount of sebum (oil) that is released by the sebaceous (oil) glands,
and it increases that rate at which the skin renews itself. However,
isotretinoin can cause serious side effects. It is basically a major
overdose of vitamin A.

Retin-A--(A.K.A. Tretinoin, Retin-A Renova, Vitamin A Acid, Adapalene,
Differin, Tazarotene, Tazorac) *Topical* retinoids work by unplugging
clogged pores, allowing other topical medications, such as antibiotics to
enter the hair shaft and fight underlying infection. A topical antibiotic is
often used along with a topical retinoid, an oral antibiotic, and benzoyl
peroxide. Topical retinoids also work to reduce outbreaks by preventing dead
cells from clogging pores. Some of the peeps in here have had little to no
luck with it...some have had success...

A)Accutane - the only true existing *cure* for acne (i use cure lightly, as
it questionably permanent).
B)Retin-A - another completely useless treatment you may end up wasting
months on for no good reason other than to get your derm to prescribe A)
