Been on accutane for nearly 10 weeks now and there is still no 'definate'
improvement. Is this normal or should something definate have started to
happen by now??

I think each person has a different reaction, and I don't think it is
predictive of the ultimate effectiveness of the course.

For instance, I've been on Accutane several times. My first few times,
I cleared right away. However, things went back to normal as soon as
each course was over. During my last course, I didn't clear until
nearly 8 weeks in. The last course worked the best.

How much do you weigh and what is your dosage?

OK, I looked back at your previous postings. You say you alternate
40mg and 20mg per day and you weigh 65kg. That is an average of 30mg
per day. So you are taking about 0.46mg/kg each day.

In my courses, I was taking 80mg per day and I weighed about 71kg. So
I was taking about 1.1mg/kg each day.

You are taking a lower dose (per kg) than most take (at least in
America), so that might explain the delay in clearing. Anyway, even at
that dosage, I suspect your skin will clear before the course is over.

From what I've read, that shouldn't make any difference in the final
result. The point is to get a cumulative dose of about 120mg/kg. For
you, that would be a cumulative dosage of 7800mg. At an average of
30mg per day, your course would go about 260 days, or 8.6 months, in
all.

Of course, it would be much shorter if your derm increases your dosage
at some point. Or maybe your derm has figured you don't need the full
dosage based on your skin condition.

Someone check my math.
