Oh yes, I am VERY skeptical of the topical stuff you mention above.
But for the B5 - your one example means nothing. The first thing that
comes to mind is that, hey, it's very, very common for acne to go away
at your age without any treatment, so you have absolutely no basis for
saying it was the B5. It is more likely it went away by itself due to
changing of your physiology. I addition to this, anecdotal evidence
like this tells us nothing about how the treatment will work in the
general population.
What we need to look at is some sort of controlled study. Show some
good scientific evidence, not just your own personal case. I know of
NO study that has tested systemic (e.g. pills) B5 in a controlled study
- in other words, the systemic B5 without any other therapies, like
topicals, etc., being done at the same time.
People, personal testimonials are meaningless, especially when they're
made by someone who has acne cleared up in this age range. It is just
so common for acne to go away at that age, that any personal experience
with a med. has to be taken for a grain of salt. If you want to try
it, go ahead, and I hope it works. All I'm saying is that this guy's
"evidence" is not worth anything.
