Minocycline - For those take a look at the article. This is exactly what happened to me, back in 1994.... Its rare these days as it's but it is still worth getting the facts.

Hello,
I have visited the doctors today to checkout my acne for the first
time which has started since i was 14 and now im 19 and its still
going on. I asked him if i should take Accutane. He says no! thats for
very severe acne is only a last resort so he reccommended i take the
antibiotic Minocycline. The treatment involves of me taking a 100 mg
pill twice a day.
Question1: Is this treatment effective?
Question2: What are the side effects, ive read some stuff about skin
coloring as a side effect, are there any other side effects in
addition to that?

Minocycline was horrible for me. It caused me to develop hard bumps on my
joints (under the skin) that were incredibly painful and itchy. It is
listed as a very rare side effect of the drug. I had to take a very strong
antihistimine to counter act it. And no antibiotic has ever helped with my
skin.

It gave me yellow teeth and Candida. If I could go back to your age I
wouldn't have taken it. Use Klear Action instead - it cured me after 15
years of acne.

What have you heard about skin colouring? What colour does it go?

I've been on it for years 6-7 with no side effects. It worked for me, not
100% effective on the large cystic zits, but good enough on the rest. I
finally had a course of Accutane which cleared things up very well, and now
I just take the Minocyline for rosacea which I'm also blessed with. I say
give it a go and see what happens. If it's no good, just stop, but you
probably wont be any worse off than you are now.
