As described in book The Acne Cure, holding ice on an incipient infected
area prior to applying chilled
2.5% bezoyl peroxide solution to it really does retard the development of
the infection. It won't go away completely, but it won't swell up and get
as pustulent as it would have been without the chill-and-BP treatment.
Realistically, most people will find that if they're getting infections
like this there is something in their diet, like too much refined
carbobohydrate, fat, or sugar (or all together) that is contributing to
their symptoms. Some people have a lot of trouble dealing with this
emotionally (because they're addicted to the food that is causign them
trouble) but it doesn't change the facts of the situation.
Drink lots of tea, especially green tea, and herb teas like red clover,
ginger, alfalfa, and dandelion and you will help yourself alot. Good luck.
