Hi. I am a 33-year-old male.
For years, I used Benzaclin for acne on my face and neck. Benzaclin
contains benzoyl peroxide.
A while ago, I started noticing that Benzaclin wasn't working as fast
as
Benzaclin had worked before. I thought that my face was getting too
used to the Benzaclin.
So, I asked my dermatologist for something new. The doctor gave me
Retin-A Micro (0.04%).
I have used the Retin-A Micro for the past 8 weeks.
The Retin-A website states that there should be a temporary increase
in pimples. However, the website also states that the pimples should
start subsiding in the seventh and eighth weeks.
However, these pimples are subsiding very little, if at all.
So, what's going on? Should I give up on this stuff?
The pimples are especially severe around my neck. Is Retin-A Micro
inappropriate for the neck?
In the past, I have occasionally used iodine on certain pimples, and
using iodine did help somewhat. Would it be a good idea to use iodine
in conjunction with the Retin-A Micro?
By the way, here is the Retin-A Micro website:
