Archived from groups: alt>skincare>acne (more info?)

HI all,

I had a flare of up mile to moderate cystic acne earlier this year. It
got worse to I went on Accutane for 5 months. Just before accutane I
had a cyst which was healing but during accutane it gradually become
really dry and scaly and didn't go away. It eventually become two
small (1-2mm) bumps, sometimes scaly sometimes red/smooth. Later my
dermatologist said she *thought* it was something like pyogenic
granuloma and continues to say this. I have been off accutane for
about 7 weeks and its still there, but a bit reduced in height. It
seems to get scaly with a layer of dead skin over and then I apply
petroleum jelly for a few days and the skin sloughs away and it is
pretty smooth and pink, then it scales over again in about a week.

I am not sure if I should continue keeping it moist or if I should just
let it scab over completely? I am seeing another derm in another month
or so to get another opinion. I'm not sure what to do about it but its
driving me crazy but I guess I can't get it removed until i'm away from
accutane for a while.

Sad
