Problem with sun protection - suggestions?

Seem to have an allergy to whatever chemicals are used for UV
protection...
I have started getting allergic (histamine?) reactions to some face
creams. I've tried several different ones; most night creams are ok,
any with sun protection are not. My skin goes blotchy red and is
really itchy.

What should I do? It's not a big problem at this time of year, but not
looking forward to Summer, as I have pale sensitive skin and burn
easily.

I was talking to somebody ... must have been karen, either
her jewelweed product or a new thing she is making which
I don't recall the name of the herb. I think she told me
one of these had a good UV protection. I don't think it's
advertised for that purpose, the jwelweed is for rashes and
the other new thing repels ticks (!) ... check her
