Post subject: E-Numbers (acne)

What exactly are e-numbers in food ingredients? Something I eat gives me
facial spots - and from trial and error it seems to be junk food - ie.
sweets, pop, biscuits, etc. If I stop eating all of these, then I don't get
any spots. I would like to narrow it down further - ie. is it e-numbers, or
articicial colouring, or preservitives, etc.

Could be all of these items. But it is also refined sugar that causes a
problem.

As far as I Know, Ingredients with E-nummers means that they are allowed by
the European Commision, to be used in products.
