Anything other than Hydrocortisone for this rash? (also he..

I somehow developed a small, circular rash (about the size of a penny)
just underneath and to the left of my belly button; I've had it for
about 3 weeks, and it's not getting any better. I've tried applying
Polysporin, but that didn't do anything, and now Hydrocortisone's not
making it any better really...any other medications I should think
about?

Also, I'm getting rather worried about this thing; even though it's
small and doesn't itch and it's not getting any bigger, it's slightly
unusual...it's reddish, but not raised (compared to the skin around
it) but it doesn't feel like "normal" skin-tissue, it feels quite
smooth...like scar tissue in fact...but I can't remember cutting
myself there, or burning myself, or anything else that would cause
scar-like tissue to develop...anyone ever heard of anything like this?
(no other symptoms or anything, and I'm 23 yr old M)

AnonDude,

I have one of those on my left ankle, on the inner side. I think I got it
from the shoes rubbing that spot or something. If you haven't noticed
anything rubbing there alot then it may be something different. Have you
considered getting it checked out? (preferably by a dermatogologist)
