I've had acne for 14 years since teenage years...tried MANY KINDS of
medicine including creams, cleansers, pills etc. Recenly, I decided to
try Proactiv and thought it was such a joke. Totally useless, the
Proactiv chemicals made my skin super dry and irritating even though I
used it only once a day ..to start with...then..I realized that the
key to treating the acne is not by applying the chemicals on your skin
(Proactiv Solution and similar treatments) but curing the acne from
inside... The acne does not just appear for no reason..it appears due
to either hormonal disbalance, blood, other infections your body has,
foods you eat, stress, sanitary conditions etc etc etc... Basically,
the biggest part of the ance problem lies in your blood...and body..
This led me to the bookstore where I started reading books about
natural medicine... I have read that herbs like Burdock Root and
Sarsparilla and few other ones have been used in treatment of skin
problems (acnes, circles, eruptions, inflammations etc). At that
time, my skin was not as dry and irritated than during the times of
using Proactiv (the useless medicine as I mentioned)..so I took a
chance and started making my own herbal tees. I noticed the difference
right away...Now, I am using herbal tees to help my skin. The skin
became smooth, acne went away and it just feels great to cure the acne
without applying chemicals on your skin. Remember, you only have one
skin...and applying bunch of products on it..is not going to help in a
long run...find the problem and cure it from inside..

i dont care how many remedies you take and how you change your diet etc.. if
your skin is prone to acne, your skin is still going to produce excess sebum
and dead skin cells are still going to block your pores.. therefore you
still need some form of effective cleansing regime.. of course experimenting
with herbal medicine and your diet in addition is mostly harmless and can be
helpful.

Hi Deuce,
I respectfully disagree with you. Actually, I know a lot of vegan raw
foodists who cleared up their skin and no longer use anything but water to
clean their faces. Diet really can correct the imbalances that are in our
bodies. When I stick to my diet, I do not need any acne medications or
special cleansers. But when my diet slips, so does my skin.
Take care,

So many herbal remedies have botanicals that I'm allergic to, it's
better for me to use chemical (strange, I know). Proactive happened to
work wonders for me and many that I know, I think it so very individual
what works.
I would think that the new trend in skin vitamins should help a lot.
