| Does anyone know if accutane can cause VERY bad headaches? I've had a
headache now for three days... Everytime I move my head i get a sharp
pain to the back of my brain basically. I also had a very very stiff
neck yesterday (don't know if the two things are related though).

I think you'd better tell your doctor about this. If these symtoms
persist you could go blind. Not joking. Do a search on Accutane and
side effects. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

When I woke up this morning, the headache was very minor, the neck
stiffness is still there though, I'll wait a while longer before I
phone my derm. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

The system was "unable to retrieve" Daisy's message, so I'll reply
here.
Anyway, I missed the final blood test because I had been drinking very
often that week, and I didn't want it to affect my blood test results,
so I just didn't go, therefore phoning my derm isn't a wise decision.
I don't think accutane is causing the headaches anyway, I read up a
little and read that a sprained neck can causes headaches, and I think
I sprained my neck whilst lifting weights on Monday.
Thanks. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

For heaven's sake phone your specialist and ask about this.
Specialists are paid to know all about side effects - you shouldn't
have to search out the answers on the Net.

from my derm 'you can get some headaches on Roaccutane but this is not a
common side effect'. Its interesting how your still doing to two main
things you should not be doing while on accutane, weight lifting and
drinking alcohol. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

It was my first session of weightlifting in around 5 months, I'm
waiting till after accutane to start properly again, and I don't drink
much alcohol while on accutane, it's just that week I got very drunk
twice. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

Why shouldn't I lift during accutane course?
I train 5 times a week (MAX-OT : very intense stuff) and during week-end I
run and play hockey. Accutane doesn't do anything! I weight 170 and take 2 x
40 mg daily.
Alcohol and drugs I don't touch (for now)

sounds like your derm didnt provide you with much/any information.
Accutane has a large range of possible side effects the worst of which are
rare, but we all play the odds. Muscles tend to be 'touchy', after a hard
workout they may be stiff, sore and can take a long time to heal. Worst
case is permanent muscle damage.
The same applies with alcohol. Some people develop liver abnormalities
(one of the things they check in the monthly blood tests) and have to stop
taking accutane. A very good reason to hold off the drink for a while.
Other uncommon side effects include headaches, depression, backache and
poor night vision.
Enough typing Odds are youll finish your course without any muscle
problems at all, everyone has to decide on the risk vs reward. >> Stay informed about: Excruciating headaches while on accutane... |

Accutane - Hi there. Im just posting a question about accutane and its effect. Iv been on it for 1 month now. Im 5ft10 and about 65kg. I take 20mg one day and then 40mg next day. Keep alternating like that. So far tho i have not see any effect of accutane. I dont..

Accutane : Day 1 , Cap 1 - Well, the inevitable has happened. Just took my first pill. Luckily Accutane won't be expensive at all... I take 2 x 40mg per day. Normal price is 240$ CAD but it will actually cost me 70$ CAD, thanks to my insurances. Oh we'll see how it goes
Accutane - Been on accutane for nearly 10 weeks now and there is still no 'definate' improvement. Is this normal or should something definate have started to happen by now?? |
