Hello all,
I have suffered serious acne for about a year now - my face was littered
with little spots and so too was my back and part of my chest. I had tried
a plethora of creams and ointments to no, long term avail. If I didn't use
the creams everyday without fail my acne would return even worse. Even if I
did use the creams I would still get a couple of new spots every day or so.
I have even tried different diets - none of which had any dramatic
influences on my acne. Nonetheless, my mother was telling me about a month
ago that when I was a baby I suffered from a lactose intolerance - I
couldn't drink cows milk as it upset my stomach. Over the past 7-8 years I
have been drinking milk regularly and it didn't seem to have any affect on
me (it seems that I had outgrown this intolerance). The past year I had
been going to the gym more and as a consequence, I increased my milk intake
as this is a good source of protein. I only realised in retrospect that it
may have been this very thing that is causing my acne. This makes even more
sense given that my acne had started a year ago, the very time when I
started drinking much higher levels of milk.
For the past 3 weeks I have been substituting normal cows milk for lactose
free milk (I didn't like the taste of soy). This has had remarkable results
in just 3 weeks. My acne on my face is SIGNIFICANTLY better, although there
are still spots on my face, they all seem to be receding. I haven't had ONE
new spot on my face since I forwent cows milk. To prove that it is in fact
the milk, I attempted to keep all other variables as constant as possible -
my diet has been what it has for the last week (bar the milk) and I am
actually not using ANY creams on my face (just water!). I think this is
rather conclusive that it was this one product that was causing me a year of
heartache. I look forward everyday to waking up and just having a glance at
my face and being thrilled not to see one new spot!
I really hope someone gets some benefit out of this. This story is somewhat
similar to what 'davey' posted which was subjected "My Acne Cure". Davey
has achieved similar results, although he hasn't defined the problem all the
way down to a single food.
Cheers,
James >> Stay informed about: *My* Acne Cure |

I should just clarify that I have given up cows milk as well as cheese and
yogurt (I'm not sure what affect the latter two ingredients have on my acne,
if any).

I've definitely found the same to be true for me.
Not a complete elimination of acne, however, an impressive reduction.

Yeah, it won't work for everyone, in fact it will probably only work for a
small minority, but if you ARE apart of that minority, then this should be
treated as being significant news. I would recommend everyone give it a go
for two or three weeks.

Do you find this kind of milk at regular grocery stores where you can buy the
other kinds of milk? And is it just called "Lactose free milk"? Hey what
about skim milk? Would that make a difference in acne if you drink skim milk
as supposed to whole milk? But is that Lactose free milk found in regular
grocery stores and is it under that name? Because I don't recall seeing
Lactose free milk before.... >> Stay informed about: *My* Acne Cure |

Yes, you can buy lactose free milk at the grocery store. This will work for
you if you are lactose intolerant. If you aren't, you may not see any
difference. But dairy consumption can cause a lot of problems for skin if
you are so inclined. There is also rice milk and nut milks. >> Stay informed about: *My* Acne Cure |

The milk goes under the name "Lactose Free Milk", it is in a square 1 litre
carton at my local grocery story. Skim milk IS NOT good enough. It is
really no different from ordinary milk in fact. I would actually recommend
you go straight to Soy milk (if you can stand the taste!!!) and see if that
helps the situation. Try and avoid other dairy products just to see if that
also has an effect (i.e. no yogurt, cheese, creamy products etc).

Whole milk to skim milk...they all contain the damaging hormones. I have
been off cow milk for years (lactose intolerant, no choice) and now if I
even smell it I gag (even skim) cuz I can smell the stinky hormones in it

Just to test this theory, I decided to have two bowls of cereal (with
standard cows milk). The next day there was noticeable spots on my face. I
think it is very clear that dairy products are the contributing cause of my
acne.
Good luck to you all,

James,
Whats your bloody group type. Incidentally, I was going through some (non
acne related) articles yesterday which said that group "O" should stay away
from Milk and diary product since it doesnt work very well with the type. I
am type O and I was thinking about trying this out for a while...
