This may sound like a silly thing to post about - but I've had a cracked lip
for months now. It will start to heal, then it opens up again when I wake
up in the morning. I've had cracked lips before, but this is getting
ridicules - it just won't heal, and gets quite sore. I put Vaseline on it
before going to bed, which helps a bit - but it's not enough to stop it from
reopening some mornings. Is there anything better I can try?

Thanks for any info,
Dan.

Vit B, C, and Zinc deficiency may be possible causes.

this is no good as a cure for the cause, but the best stuff I have found for
dry/chapped lips is by far Blisteze / Blistex Relief Cream. All those waxy
things I find are rubbish. They may work as a barrier to prevent any further
drying but they don't help fix it. Blisteze works very well.

Vaseline is a mineral oil which can not be absorbed by the skin. You can
compare what you are doing with wrapping your skin with plastic. The skin
canīt breathe which is necessary when it comes to healing wounds. A much
better choise is to use an organic lip balm e.g coconut or palm based.
