I'm 33 and have suffered with acne for nearly 20 years, never severe but
always mild to moderate. The only thing I know for sure is that your diet
does play a role, despite all the bullshit you hear from derms. A diet high
in sugar and carbs can be tough on your skin. If it's bad enough, it can
cause outbreaks of eczema and acne, if you are prone to skin problems.
Stress also plays a role, a big one. Washing your face too much or with hot
water can make your acne worse. Use luke warm water and don't wash more
than twice daily. Also use a good, fragrace-free soap.
The major breakout areas for me in my teens and twenties were on my forehead
and along my jawline. Now, I rarely break out on my forehead anymore, just
along my jawline (probably ingrown hairs). To solve this problem, I shave
with a good razor and use Benzashave shaving cream, it seems to eliminate
about 75 percent of my jawline acne. I've also learned that a little sun on
my skin is ok but using the sun to try and burn acne off will only make
things worse in the long run.
Oh yeah, B5 did not work at all for me.
