Archived from groups: alt>skincare>acne (more info?)

Hi All,
I just got GNC's , Twinlab's, and Great Earth Vitamins at the mall today.
I had to get different ones because the store only had a couple of bottles of
each left, so I bought 2 bottles of each of the above.

My question is, which online supplier do you recommend? Since I have no luck
at the local stores getting the quantity I want, I'm going to order online this
week. I'm going away on vacation for 2 months, so I need to bring lots of B5
with me.
I'm taking 10 grams per day now.

The choices I've looked into are:
1. VitaCure B5 ClearSkin Acne @
http://www.store.yahoo.com/vitacures/vitb5clear.html
2. AcneRid (www.acnerid.com)---looks pretty good, but I haven't heard anyone
saying good things yet.

3. NOW brand at www.vitaglo

4. Clear SKin Image from A-Plus Marketing
(http://www.coenzyme-a.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=ap
9999&Product_Code=CSI001&Category_Code=CA003) They also make Coenzyme A....and
I don't know if I can just take this instead?

5. Puritan Pride at www.puritan.com
6. TwinLab or Swanson's at www.swansonvitamins.com
7. Evolution X at www.b5supplements.com

I really would like to try the ones made just for acne, like Evolution X or
VitaCure B5 or Acne Rid, but has anyone found them to be great quality? What
do you find to be the best in terms of quality?

Thanks so much!
Sarra

www.acnemiracle.com
I have no affiliation with them whatsoever (not an agent or whatever).
But their stuff is eight cents a gram ($24.77 for 30 days of 10/g a day)
the formula includes zinc, and you get a free B5 gel with it.
Most Importantly, there B5 *supplement* product always gets good reviews
for quality.
HTH

(the others you listed are okay to poor, and some are very expensive
(CSI for one, although that's the most inclusive formula that includes
biotin and molybd. and is otherwise a great formula, just expensive)

(there may be cheaper sources than $.08/gram, but I haven't researched
that in a year or so.)

B5: Does it cause hairloss? - uh oh. Thats one thing I CANNOT risk, as I am already thinning somewhat. Some of the reviews I'm reading online show hairloss as a side effect. Is this true or mainly hype/placebo? (i.e. the hair would have been lost anyway)

How long does B5 take to work? - Hi, I've been on 10g B5 (from Holland & Barrat) for 3 weeks and so far I've seen no improvement in acne or oiliness, if anything it's got worse. How long should I expect to wait to see improvements?

UK sources of good B5 powder/caps? - Hi, if you've tried B5 and it worked for you, or someone you know, please let me know the brand (if available in the UK) as I want to use a brand that is known to work. I cannot find the 'Now' brand as recommended by DMax in a separate thread. Do you..

Commerical 'B5 Acne Cure' caps vs. regular powder? - Hi, I've seen a few commercial products offering B5 and other ingredients such as Biotin (useful as B5 depletes Biotin) and other good skin ingredients such as Zinc, all in a ready-prepared capsule. Why can't we take Coenzyme A instead of B5? - I note at http://www.coenzyme-a.com/acne_vulgaris.html that Coenzyme A is the primary deficiency that may cause acne in some. They recommend we take B5 to create Coenzyme A. However my health store sells Coenzyme A capsules. Why don't we just take..
