The skin on my arms and legs is getting rather dry. A friend has
suggested using the Nivea body lotion for dry skin.. Has anyone tried
any of the nivea lotions - are they any good?

Hi Wendy,

Nivea and other petroleum-based lotions work well for a short time,
only because they form a layer over the skin, thus preventing moisture
loss and giving the appearance of soft skin. However, they are not
treating the real cause of dry skin and not allowing essential
nutrients and cell-repairing ingredients to penetrate the skin's dry,
damaged layers. You're much better off using a natural product
because:
(a) petroleum-based products are known irritants and really bad for
your body!
(b) natural, vegetable-based moisturisers contain ingredients like
cocoa butter and sweet almond oil which are beneficial to the skin and
help heal it from the inside

I stock a range of natural and organic, luxurious moisturisers good
enough to eat! Try Giovanni Professional Organic Body Care - straight
from the catwalks of Beverly Hills!

Hi Wendy,

I had dry skin on my leg and butt, I used Sarna Lotion to get rid of
it.
Never came back so far.

I asked one dermatologist and learned, sometimes the dryness
can be a combination of dry and eczema, in that
case, "Sarna sensitive skin lotion" works really well.
Otherwise, you can choose "Sarna dry skin lotion" or other kind, I
can't remember
the name, but has 1% menthol, provides the instant relief of the
itchiness from
dry skin, works well in summer too.

By the way, use shower gloves, soap free cleanser and never forget
applying lotion
are useful too, sorry, if you know that already...just want to be
helpful.

P.S. my husband likes Vaseline lotion (the dark purple bottle one), he
feels it works
best for his dry legs, feels stinging after applying, but useful, I
never tried.

All the best,
Venice

The best thing we ever found was all natural soap.
It was so good we decided to start selling it on the internet!
