uh oh. Thats one thing I CANNOT risk, as I am already thinning
somewhat. Some of the reviews I'm reading online show hairloss as a
side effect. Is this true or mainly hype/placebo? (i.e. the hair would
have been lost anyway)

Yes, it's true.

Hair will (often/usually/anecdotally) grow faster, even at 1g/day I
noticed my hair growing noticeably faster), but a tone does fall out. Is
this a result of it growing faster (faster shedding)? I don't know.
However, I don't think so. I think the hair loss is a result of biotin
deficiency resultant of the B5 megadose. Just my opinion, of course.
Supplementation with biotin often slows or stops the excessive loss, at
least in under 10gram/day doses..

I don't know about long term use, but for short term use (under 6
months), hair seems to recover and grow back if you go off the B5.

Hey, if you are thinning (and a guy), check out the zinc sulfate route
with azelex, applying that combo to your head, too, sounds like your
problems might be related to dHt..
