Im on week 5 now of 60mg a day. Derm has told me to cut back to 40mg a
day to help but my knuckles on my hands are really dry, to the point
where i have cirles of dry flaking skin round every knucle and
creeping up the base of my fingers.
Can anyone recommend a UK cream to help.
Ive tried Boots own make Skin Therapy lotion but it only lasts about
an hour then its back, rubbing on vaseline helps a bit but again this
only lasts about 30 mins to an hour, then the flakes are visible again
Is there anything that can give me a bit longer?

Hi,

I tried quite a few products whilst on accutane but nothing was as good as
Vaseline Intensive Care DermaCare. It is really amazing turning thick flaky
lizard skin into smooth silky supermodel skin instantly!!

I too had very dry hands whilst on accutane and still do now - 3 months
later - so I use DermaCare every morning.

When I was on it, my doctor gave me sample packs of Cetaphil and it worked
great. It is now available at Wal-Mart and places similar.

When I was in school I had a job at a pet store. All the cleaning of
teh fish tanks and cages meant alot hand washing and my hands dried
out to the point of bleeding through cracked skin.
The Dr told me to put on a good lotion and then wear plastic gloves
when I slept.. It wasnt pretty, but it worked.
