Hello,
I'm 27, and have a very oily skin. I don't have severe acne on my face, only
inflamated skin, redness, black heads, occaional white heads, all due to the
excess oil. (I have acne on the back though).
Is there any chance, for accutane to clear up my excess oil problem
definitely ? Or will it just come back after I finish the treatement ?
Thanks in advance,
Gerard >> Stay informed about: Accutane, any chance to clear excess oil forever ? |

that sounds like my case. I dealt with all the sideaffects of having
oily skin such as blackheads, whiteheads and back and chest acne for 5
years. Im now 24 days into accutane. I was told that my oily skin
will dissapear. It really does cut back on virtually on all the oil
production. I used to take showers all the time just to rinse off my
face now I take two. I never used to use moisterizer because my face
was shiney after an hour. Now I can use it. It hasn't cleared up my
face entirely but in some areas like my chin and mouth it has already
done wonders. I used antibiotics prior to accutane but they did'nt
reduce oil. the sideaffects of accutane, for me, have not outweighed
the benifits. I'm actually looking foward to moving from 40mgs to
80mgs in a week. Hope that helps you out. >> Stay informed about: Accutane, any chance to clear excess oil forever ? |

yep for the majority of people in our age group it does exactly that and at
worst they have to cope with the odd spot or two like a 'normal' person.
However there always are exceptions to the rule, some people require
multiple treatments or even stay permanently on a low dosage. >> Stay informed about: Accutane, any chance to clear excess oil forever ? |

Im just starting my 7th week on accutane and even though its a bit dry I
love how my skin feels. No longer an oily grease bag! Fingers crossed it
lasts when the treatment is complete. Not to sure how ill cope if it
doesnt. >> Stay informed about: Accutane, any chance to clear excess oil forever ? |

Try cleaning up your diet and use mild cleansers.
Strong cleansers encourage sebum production, just like shampooing your hair
every day encourages more oil production.
Use a paste of oatmeal and water to exfoliate and clean your skin. Can
leave it on for a while to act as a drawing mask.
Rub almond butter on your face for a great exfoliator.
Honey is great for the skin....put some good honey on your skin and tap,
tap, tap with your fingers for a few minutes. Draws out schlock from your
pores. LK
