I have heard of recommendations that alcohol shouldn't be taken whilst going
on accutane. Is there any other things that should/shouldnt be done. i.e.
what about serious sports training. I train at quite a high intensity level
70%+ of max heart rate for on average 2 hours per day. Would accutane impair
my performance or have any other side affects.

thanks.

Technically you should ask the derm, but I weight trained heavily (and still
do) during my course. I was lucky that I wasn't tainted with all the nasty
rumors of ~KILLER~ side effects because the only thing in my life that
changed was having to take 3 pills a day. I drank, smoked, and engaged in
all sorts of "illicit" activities while on it. I mountain biked, scuba
dived, flew kites and everything. Smile

Really ask the derm though.

Funny, I was just about to ask the same thing. But I have another question.
I know you should try to avoid sun when on accutane, but after it, can you
go to tanning booth, if so how much time after you are done? And you think
that going to tanning booth is going to give me back acne?

I finished my course in March of 98. I waited until about the end of April
before going to the tanning place because they aren't kidding about the sun
sensitivity. I remember whilst on it, I was sitting at a picnic table
smoking (at work) in September and my arms and face got burned in the 15
minutes I was sitting out there!

I have never gotten a breakout from the tanning bed, but I take my own
cleaner to make *sure* it's been cleaned!
