I was on Accutane 4 times between 1985 and 2000. The last 3 times, I
did experience quite a bit of stiffness and pain in the area behind my
heels.
It used to be that muscle and joint pain was expected. But things may
have changed. The Walgreens website says this:
"CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience mood or personality
changes including depression, aggressive or violent behavior, or
suicidal thoughts or tendencies; back, joint, or muscle pain;"
So you are experiencing two things -- personality changes and muscle
pain -- for which Walgreens believes you should contact your doctor
immediately (they have an even more alarmist section where you are
also supposed to stop taking the drug as well as call your doctor. But
in the case of mood changes and muscle pain, they don't advise you to
stop taking the drug, just to call your doctor).
So give your doctor a call. I can guess he/she will advise you to hang
in there and keep an eye on your mood, since you are close to
finishing your course.
Let us know what he/she says.
