I've been using this product for one week, and I have to say I'm
impressed so far. My shallow scars are smoothing out really nicely, and
I even see a noticeable improvement in my deeper scars. The active
ingredient in this formula is Avocatin 302, a derivative made from
avocados. This is supposed to make the epidermis and dermis thicker, and
as far as I can tell so far, it works! According to the literature that
came with it, it works by forming glucose in the skin to rebuild skin
protein. I am also using MSM, 1 gram a day as per John Popelish's
advice. Maybe it's just the drops, maybe it's the combination of the
drops and MSM, but this looks promising.

You missed a third possibility.
But, never mind. Congratulations, and keep in touch.

What, my imagination, wishful thinking, the placebo effect? Smile)) Well,
all I know is what I see in the mirror, and there is certainly an
improvement.I've considered that it might just be the effect of
irritation causing the skin to "plump" up, making my scars appear
smaller. Of course, it's only been a week, so the real efficacy remains
to be seen.I hate to jump to conclusions though, I had similar false
hopes when I tried microdermabrasion and glycolic acid. And by the way, I
have very severe acne scars, the result of cystic acne. Many many small
ones and some big ones that I'm not expecting to see improvement with
without something like excision or punch grafting. So any improvement
will be a minor miracle. But anyway, I'll keep the group posted (all
three of you), I'll continue using MSM and the drops, and I'll report
back soon with the results (good or bad). And BTW, I'm not a shill for
the company that makes this, so I'm not saying that people should run
out and buy this expecting a miracle, I'm just conveying my results with
it ...

By the way, I have read several research articles that suggest that
MSM works best if you have plenty of vitamin C in your diet. Do you
take a daily multi vitamin or a bit of vitamin C, separately? I take
250 mg a day (when I remember).

Well, I was taking 500 mg of Vitamin C a day, along with the MSM, before
my supply ran out last week. I need to get some more. For three weeks
prior to beginning the protein drops I was taking 1 gram of MSM and the
vitamin C, and I definitely saw a difference in my complexion after just
two weeks of MSM/vitamin C. So I'm definitely a believer in the MSM
regimen. Though from what I understand it takes a year or more before
improvement with scars can be seen? I've read on another forum that
beginning Feb. 1st a new formulation of the 302 protein drops will be
introduced, one which contains derivatives of vitamins A and C
(interesting that they include vitamin C, when their website had said
that C is not that useful in skin repair, IIRC). Anyway, I'll keep using
MSM and the drops and I'll report back (and believe me, I not a shill
for those people, just a desperate guy who was willing to risk $55 to
try this stuff, lol).

I started taking MSM to strengthen a couple easily split fingernails.
I just happened to notice about 6 months later than many of my
childhood scars were less obvious, so I don't know exactly when
noticeable change started. A year after I started MSM, my scars were
still slowly fading. Now, after taking MSM for several years, they
seem to be about as invisible as they are going to get, but I still
notice that new injuries heal very quickly with minimal new scars.

I damn near cut the end of one of my fingers off in October 04, but if
you didn't know exactly where to look for it, you would probably not
find the scar. Amazing to me is that the area that has numbness from
the cut nerves is also shrinking. That is not supposed to be
possible.

Yes, if by interesting, you mean suspicious. Wink

Excellent.
