Archived from groups: alt>skincare>acne (more info?)

Just saw my derm today, basically I been suffering with really oily
skin (t-zone) and the odd few spots for the past 2 years, I took
Accutane 14 years ago (90mg 1st month, 60mg 3 months) and kept my
spots and oily skin away. He has perscribed me 20mg/day and has given
me 2 months worth to see how it goes, he seems to think this will
clear up my problem, anyone else tried this dosage daily? will I get
many side effects as the dosage is low? a 2-months course will cost me
£75, is this reasonable? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I started myself on 20mg a month for my first month and up to 40 on my
second. I had great results in that first month though. I didn't have awful
acne but it was VERY persistent mostly due to excess oil in my skin I
believe. The Accutane has been drying my up nicely. I'm also a fairly big
guy at 200 lbs.

Buddee.

Accutane - I have to go on accutane. How bad does the acne gets worse the first weeks? Is it so bad that you can't go out? Currently, my acne is not so bad but I want it TO GO AWAY AND NEVER COME BACK.

Accutane - Hi there. Im just posting a question about accutane and its effect. Iv been on it for 1 month now. Im 5ft10 and about 65kg. I take 20mg one day and then 40mg next day. Keep alternating like that. So far tho i have not see any effect of accutane. I dont..

Accutane 7th day - Ok, eyes not so dry in the morning anymore. Odd thing is that I haven't had any new acne show up since day 3 and the old stuff has been dissappearing nicely. Sorry Lauksna! Buddee.

Accutane : Day 1 , Cap 1 - Well, the inevitable has happened. Just took my first pill. Luckily Accutane won't be expensive at all... I take 2 x 40mg per day. Normal price is 240$ CAD but it will actually cost me 70$ CAD, thanks to my insurances. Oh we'll see how it goes

Accutane - Been on accutane for nearly 10 weeks now and there is still no 'definate' improvement. Is this normal or should something definate have started to happen by now??
